Amavubi-World Cup: Amrouche promises good results

The new coach of “Amavubi”, Adel Amrouche, made this statement on Thursday, March 20, 2025, the day before the match which will pit Amavubi of Rwanda against the “Super Eagles” of Nigeria in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Adel Amrouche said his debut with the Rwandan national team “Amavubi” was not difficult in preparation. He expressed his satisfaction with the positive dynamic within the team. He took this opportunity to invite the Rwandan public to come in large numbers, promising good results.

“Today everything is going well. My debut wasn’t difficult because the players know me, and I know almost all of them. It’s true that I’m at the beginning of a new adventure with this group, which I find wonderful. There’s a good synergy between me and the players,” Adel Amrouche rejoiced.
“I know what Rwandan fans expect from us. We will do everything to bring joy to this wonderful and warm crowd, which is becoming one of the best in Africa. Amavubi has a golden crowd, as the colors show. I ask them to behave as such and come in large numbers to cheer on their team. We need them, especially for this match. I thank them in advance,” he added.
The match between Rwanda and Nigeria will be the first match for the new coach of “Amavubi” Adel Amrouche. The Algerian is not new to African football as a national team coach.

In 2023, he qualified Tanzania for the Africa Cup of Nations, before being suspended by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). During the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Adel Amrouche, then Tanzania’s coach, accused Morocco of having influence within CAF to manipulate the scheduling and refereeing of matches.
It was in 2025 that the Algerian coach returned to service with Amavubi of Rwanda.
Rwanda’s national team “Amavubi” is set to clash with Nigeria’s “Super Eagles” in Kigali. This match, which is part of the 5th round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, is scheduled for this Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Amahoro Stadium in Remera, Kigali.
